Jamshedpur Women’s University Jamshedpur has initiated the Teacher Education Course in the Year 2005 imparting Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) Course with an annual intake of 100 students. In the year 2009 the department of Education was assessed by NAAC and was accredited with ‘A’ grade. The same year this University got the permission of running M.Ed Course with an annual intake of 25 students. In the year 2012 the University got the permission for an additional intake of 100 in B.Ed mounting to a total of 200 students’ intake annually. In the year 2012 again the M.Ed. annual intake was increased to 35 students. From the year 2015 two years M.Ed. Programme was introduced with an annual intake of 50 students. In the same year two years B.Ed programme was implemented with an annual intake of 200 students. Since the inception of Teacher Education Course the institution has strived to impart quality teacher education courses and has successfully completed 14 years.
Apart from this academic achievement the students of faculty of education in the session 2015-17 and 2016-18 had an active participation in other curricular activities and brought laurels for the Institution. One of the major achievements is bagging 3rd Award in the Cashless Movement (VISAKA) which was received from Minister of Information and Communication Ministry, Sri Prakash Javdekar.
Among the teacher education institutions running in the state of Jharkhand, Jamshedpur Women’s University Education Department is considered as a premiere department giving its maximum effort in continuously catering qualitatively to the needs and aspiration of young educated girls of the region as well fulfilling the requirements of teacher’s educators in the state. Jamshedpur Women’s University Education Department is being considered as a resource centre for other teacher education institutions of the region and the State in providing Academic Support to other teacher education institutions as well as school education in the region through the extension services of its highly qualified faculty members. The Department of Education of Jamshedpur Women’s University has always tried to set standard of quality education for other teacher education intuitions of the state.
